Summary:
As part of our Cloud Platform Migration Program, we are seeking engineering experience in data migrations and strong expertise in DevOps and cloud automation. This role is exapted to focus on ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely migration of critical data stores, such as Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, S3, and Kafka (MSK), while also improving workflows, automation, and tooling that empower engineers across the organization.
You will work closely with Cloud Platform Engineering, Developer Experience, Data Engineering, and Software Engineering teams to design migration strategies, streamline processes, and ensure smooth adoption of the new platform.

Responsibilities:
Data Migrations
Design and execute migration plans for Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, S3, and Kafka (MSK).
Build and maintain tooling, scripts, and automation for repeatable, reliable migration processes.
Validate data integrity, completeness, and performance before, during, and after migration.
Troubleshoot schema differences, data consistency issues, and performance bottlenecks.
Ensure migrations meet compliance, security, and reliability standards.
DevOps Automation
Design, build, and upkeep tools and systems to elevate engineering team productivity.
Work with developers to pinpoint and remedy bottlenecks in the development workflow.
Advance automation tools for robust CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
Develop self-service options for developers to foster independence from other teams.
Maintain a stable, scalable, and secure development environment while keeping abreast of the latest DevOps innovations.
Craft and maintain clear, accessible internal documentation for migration and development practices.
Collect feedback and metrics to continually refine both the developer experience and migration processes.

Requirements:
5+ years of proven experience as a data migration engineer, DevOps engineer, or software engineer with a focus on developer tools and platform engineering.
Hands-on expertise with Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, S3, and Kafka (MSK) in production environments.
Strong coding skills in one or more languages (Python, Go, C#, JavaScript, or similar).
Proficiency in migration tooling and techniques (ETL pipelines, DMS, snapshot/restore, replication strategies).
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (Git).
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS preferred) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
A passion for improving workflows, developer experience, and enabling successful cloud migration.
