Data Migration Developer - Financial Services - Mortgages & Property
Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Data Migration & Integration Analyst to support a large-scale Mortgage & Property platform transformation. The role will work across product, SME, vendor, and engineering teams to map, cleanse, migrate, and reconcile complex mortgage and property data into a new strategic platform (e.g. Horizon or equivalent).
The ideal candidate combines hands-on data expertise (SQL, ETL, profiling, reconciliation) with strong domain knowledge (mortgage lifecycle, property valuations/collateral) and a proven record of delivering controlled, auditable migrations.
Core Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Profiling (18%)
Expert-level SQL for joins, window functions, DQ checks, and reconciliation queries.
Exposure to ETL tooling (SSIS, ADF, Informatica); advanced Excel/Power BI.
Produce detailed data-mapping specifications, data dictionaries, and sample datasets
Downstream Integration (15%)
Catalogue and design interfaces (API, ETL, file-based) for all downstream systems.
Define message/file contracts, ownership, frequency, and cutover approach.
Prove E2E integrations (SIT/UAT) with control totals, idempotency, retry logic, and back-out plans.
Deliver operational artefacts – schedules, monitoring/alerting, runbooks, and data-replay procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement (10%)
Collaborate with Product, BAs, SMEs, Engineers, and Vendor partners.
Facilitate workshops to capture business rules and translate them into testable data logic.
Communicate clearly and confidently with technical and non-technical audiences.
Mortgage & Property Domain (15%)
Work across the full mortgage lifecycle: origination → servicing → arrears → redemption.
Handle property data touchpoints such as valuations, collateral, and lease data.
Familiar with mortgage-servicing platforms such as Horizon or comparable systems.
Migration Delivery (20%)
Define and execute source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and lineage.
Manage trial loads, defect triage, and dress-rehearsal cutovers.
Evidence reconciliations ≥ 90 % accuracy with business sign-off.
Controls, MI & Reconciliations (12%)
Understand GL/postings and balance-check mechanisms.
Achieve “day-one parity” for operational, regulatory, and finance MI.
Design and implement control totals, exception reports, and audit trails.
Regulatory & Governance (5%)
Working knowledge of FCA/MCOB standards.
Apply GDPR, retention, and secure-handling practices.
Draft DPIA inputs and evidence compliance for all data extracts.
Delivery Discipline (5%)
Manage personal RAID items, operate within sprints/timeboxes.
Maintain clear documentation and seamless BAU handover.
Self-starting, proactive delivery under minimal oversight.
Required Experience
5 + years’ experience in large-scale data migrations (banking/financial-services).
Mortgage & property domain fluency.
Strong SQL and ETL tooling (SSIS/ADF/Informatica).
Demonstrable reconciliation and audit-control design.
Proven ability to engage vendors and manage cross-functional workshops.
Desirable
Prior exposure to Horizon or equivalent mortgage-servicing platforms.
Experience with Power BI reporting for MI parity validation.
Understanding of GL interfaces, finance postings, and regulatory reporting, SSRS, SSIS ETL BI Business Intelligence
