In full: We’re implementing a new system to be used on Operational sites that is being designed by a third party. We require someone with an Operational Technology (OT) Infrastructure and Network background to assist in knowledge sharing, query resolution and oversight of the design to ensure it’s success.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design and configuration of complex IT and OT infrastructure for a critical proof of concept and subsequent deployment. The SME will coordinate internal and external design resources, identify gaps early, and ensure technical integrity across all components.

Key Responsibilities

Consolidate design inputs from multiple stakeholders and drive alignment.
Identify missing technical details early and resolve issues promptly.
Design and build:
IT and OT networking infrastructure (Cisco switching, VLANs, IP addressing).
Hosting environments with virtual machines and virtual routing and switching (VMware, KVM).
Secure gateways (Waterfall, OPSWAT) and associated network configurations.
Configure network time synchronization across physical and virtual systems.
Implement port-mirroring, SPAN, RSPAN, ERSPAN for traffic monitoring.
Deploy cloud-hosted infrastructure services (e.g., MQTT broker, SFTP, Syslog).

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of industrial and enterprise Cisco routing and switching design and implementation, including network encryption devices.
Experience with VMware and KVM virtualization.
Microsoft Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems
Familiarity with GCP and/or Azure cloud hosting.
Understanding of “data-diode” technology and secure gateway technologies and unidirectional data flows.
Ability to configure advanced network monitoring and traffic mirroring.
