Overview
We're transforming how people power their homes and their lives, and our mobile and web products are at the heart of that journey. As a Principal Software Engineer (Mobile/Web), you'll define the future of how millions of customers interact with our digital platforms.
This is a senior technical leadership role where you'll shape our long-term frontend vision, set architectural standards, mentor engineering teams, and ensure our mobile and web apps are performant, scalable, and accessible. You'll lead a Community of Practice, driving engineering quality and fostering collaboration across the company.
The Role
As the Principal Software Engineer (Mobile/Web), you will:
Define and drive the long-term technical vision for mobile and web platforms.
Establish and evolve frontend/mobile architecture, including design systems and cross-platform libraries.
Mentor and guide senior engineers to uphold consistency and excellence across teams.
Influence API and BFF (Backend-for-Frontend) design for optimal client-server communication.
Champion performance, accessibility, and scalability across all customer-facing interfaces.
Represent externally as a thought leader in web and mobile engineering.
Set measurable benchmarks for performance and accessibility and track progress.
Build strong, cross-functional relationships with product, backend, and design teams.
Support hiring strategy and help grow the engineering team.
Lead internal knowledge-sharing through talks, workshops, and mentoring.
About You
You are a hands-on engineering leader with a passion for frontend excellence and a proven ability to influence at scale. You care deeply about user experience, code quality, and the future of digital platforms.
You will:
Bring deep technical expertise in mobile/web engineering, particularly with TypeScript/JavaScript, React.js, React Native, Swift, and/or Kotlin.
Have a proven track record of technical leadership, setting standards, and influencing strategy.
Be passionate about UX, performance, and accessibility -- and hold teams to high standards.
Be a confident mentor and communicator, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Stay on the pulse of emerging frontend technologies and how to apply them.
Be hands-on and lead by example -- actively contributing to architecture, design, and code.
