JOB SUMMARY:

This role involves managing supplier relationships, leading complex negotiations, and developing long-term commodity and category strategies. The Category Manager will oversee strategic sourcing initiatives, drive supplier performance, and ensure business continuity by mitigating supply chain risks. The position requires a highly independent, results-driven individual capable of quickly adapting to changing priorities and collaborating cross-functionally. The role will cover a 12-week for IT initially, with responsibilities transitioning from IT to Test in early 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Effectively manage supplier relationships and set strategic direction for partners and suppliers.
Resolve escalated supplier issues, manage conflict, and drive performance improvements through KPI reporting.
Lead complex negotiations including cost analysis, contract drafting, and business case creation to maximize value.
Develop, deploy, and maintain integrated commodity/category supplier strategies with a long-term strategic framework.
Assess and mitigate commercial risks within the supply chain to ensure business continuity and resilience.
Conduct market analysis to understand commodity landscapes, risks, and trends.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with business goals.
Manage and mentor buyer(s) to enhance their strategic capabilities and deliver superior business outcomes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline, with 7+ years of relevant experience.
Associate’s degree with 7+ years, Bachelor’s with 5+ years, Master’s with 3+ years, or JD/PhD accepted.
9+ years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Proven experience as a Buyer or Category Manager managing end-to-end category performance.
Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills with cross-functional teams.
Must be a self-starter and independent contributor capable of taking full ownership of assigned categories.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
Experience in aerospace, IT, or automotive industries.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to influence across functions.
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new categories or business areas rapidly.
