The Ranger Group, a leading U.S. Engineering Solutions provider to companies across the Aerospace & Defense, Medical Device, Electronics, and Industrial Manufacturing industries, is currently hiring a Software Test Engineer to work for our client in the Greater Chicago area. In this role, you will support the client by reviewing regulated requirements, developing verification tests for embedded C code, and driving Python-based test automation to ensure product reliability and compliance with industry standards.

**This position is open to U.S.-based candidates working on a W-2 basis only. No C2C or third-party arrangements will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Review regulated system and software requirements and develop corresponding test procedures.
Design, execute, and document verification and validation tests for embedded C code.
Develop Python scripts and tools to automate test execution and data analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify, isolate, and resolve software and hardware integration issues.
Ensure all testing activities meet applicable regulatory, quality, and documentation requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience working in a regulated industry such as Medical Devices or Aerospace/Defense.
Proven experience reviewing regulated requirements and developing tests aligned to those standards.
Hands-on experience testing embedded C code.
Strong proficiency in Python for test automation or data validation.
