Quantitative Developer

Location: London

6 Months rolling contract

I am currently working with a leading hedge fund that is currently looking for a Quantitative Developer to join their growing team in London. This role sits within a major firmwide transformation programme focused on building next-generation, AI-enabled systems across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strategic data, research, and analytics systems to support multiple business functions

• Work closely with AI engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders on research and production systems

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across financial, operational, and risk datasets

• Contribute to the development and deployment of AI/ML models, including feature engineering and model integration

• Create automation and tooling to enhance efficiency and insight generation

• Drive best practices in data governance, reproducibility, and scalable software engineering

Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Strong Python programming skills (NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn)

• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms

• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and using orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, etc.)

• Experience working with structured/unstructured data (SQL, NoSQL, data lakes, cloud storage)

• Understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle from experimentation to deployment

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Desirable:

• Experience with C++, Java, or C#

• Exposure to MLOps and model monitoring

• Experience building scalable, distributed data systems

• Knowledge of financial markets, risk, operations, or treasury functions

• Understanding of fixed income products or systematic trading
