This team plays a pivotal role in developing the data infrastructure and datasets that power the firm’s global trading strategies. You’ll work closely with traders, researchers, and engineers to design and deliver high-performance systems that enable seamless data access and insight generation across asset classes.
In this role, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of data products, building scalable batch and streaming pipelines, optimizing time-series data workflows, and developing APIs that make both historical and live data easily accessible to trading teams. You’ll be part of a highly collaborative, technically sophisticated environment where data quality, performance, and reliability are paramount.
Key responsibilities:
Designing and building robust data pipelines for both batch and real-time streaming of large-scale time-series datasets.
Developing and maintaining APIs and data access frameworks to deliver high-quality, low-latency data to trading and research systems.
Working cross-functionally with trading, research, and engineering teams to deliver scalable data solutions that support diverse strategies.
Owning data products from concept to production, ensuring reliability, integrity, and performance at every stage.
Providing on-call production support when required, ensuring continuous availability of mission-critical data systems.
Requirements:
5+ years’ experience in software or data engineering, with strong proficiency in Python or Java
Proven ability to deliver production-ready systems in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Experience with Linux-based, concurrent, high-throughput, low-latency systems.
Hands-on experience with modern data infrastructure, including Kafka (streaming), Airflow or Dagster (orchestration), and Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg (data lakes).
Strong understanding of relational databases and API development.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across teams.
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.
My client anticipates to pay a strong performer upwards of £400k year 1 total compensation package. As well as a market-leading compensation package, they offer exceptional benefits including a top-tier healthcare package, fully subsidised qualifications plus breakfast and lunch paid for each day.
