We are supporting a global energy technology company as they continue to modernise utility data systems across the grid. We’re looking for a Data Engineer who can help design and deliver next-generation data platforms—bringing together IT, OT, and external data to power analytics, AI and real-time grid operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement data fabric / data platform solutions (GridOS or similar).
Build and optimise data integration pipelines across OT, IT, and external sources (weather, IoT, DER).
Configure metadata catalogues, data governance, lineage and access models.
Support real-time and batch data processing for grid operations and analytics.
Collaborate with data, engineering, and business teams to improve data discovery and quality.
Troubleshoot data workflows and ensure high availability and performance.
Contribute to grid modernisation initiatives, analytics/AI enablement, and platform innovation.

Requirements

3+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer, Data Integration Engineer, or Big Data Engineer.
Experience in the utilities/energy sector is strongly preferred.
Strong skills in SQL, ETL, and big data tools (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Understanding of data fabric, metadata management, governance, or catalog technologies.
Experience working with real-time streaming, IoT, or OT data is a plus.
Exposure to GridOS, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms is an advantage.
