Job Title: Enterprise Architect

Location: London, UK - Oniste

Duration: 3 Months - Extendable

Employment Type: Contract

Roles & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a hands-on Enterprise Architect with strong experience in technology strategy, digital transformation, and large-scale modernization within BFSI.

Key Responsibilities

Define technology strategy, enterprise standards, and modernization roadmaps for legacy and bespoke applications.
Lead modernization of legacy apps (Visual Basic, Oracle Forms, PowerBuilder, old Java monoliths) into cloud-native Java apps on Azure.
Manage iterative go-lives, running legacy + new systems in parallel.
Work with BRE tools, cloud readiness tools, DevSecOps, and GitHub/code companion tools.
Evaluate and finalize tech stacks/tools with customers, comparing options and pros/cons.
Lead microservices modernization (DDD), Azure cloud architecture (WAF), database migration (Oracle Exadata/ExaCC → PostgreSQL).
Guide DevSecOps pipelines, IaC (Terraform/ARM), integration, governance, and architecture best practices.

Required Skills

20+ years in enterprise architecture & modernization.
Java/J2EE, Spring, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes.
Messaging: Kafka, Azure Event Bus.
Azure Cloud, DevSecOps, IaC, modernization accelerators (CAST, vFunction).
Strong stakeholder management and leadership.
