Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a Full-Time opportunity for a QA Engineer. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Mississauga, ON; Stellarton, Halifax NS; Calgary, AB.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Own the test strategy and quality governance for retail platforms and ensures alignment with the program's goals
Lead all test phases of Functional and Non-Functional testing including Regression, Integration, E2E, UAT, Accessibility, and Performance testing
Provides transparent, data-driven quality health metrics and KPIs to the steering committee (e.g., defect trends, test coverage, risk exposure).
Ensures test activities are aligned with key milestones and release timelines.
Acts as the primary quality point-of-contact for program and stakeholders.
Identifies quality risks and recommends mitigation strategies (e.g., test scope adjustments, regression prioritization).
Manages resource plans by aligning test team capacity with delivery milestones and escalating constraints in a timely manner to leadership
Influences decisions on defect prioritization and triaging.
Escalates risks to delivery quality, including resource, environment, or scope blockers.
Develop and oversee comprehensive test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices across diverse retail system integrations
Manage entrance and exit criteria ensuring readiness for testing including readiness of test environments and data
Manage automation strategy and performance testing in alignment with system scale and transaction volume expectations
Analyze defects and recommend release go/no-go decisions based on quality risk and test results
Participate in root cause analysis of production issues.

Job Requirements
8+ years in QA/testing, 2+ years in test leadership within a retail or transactional systems context
Deep understanding of retail systems, workflows, and integrations
Experience leading hybrid teams (onshore/offshore), automation practices, and Agile delivery models
Expertise in tools: JIRA, Zephyr/TestRail, Selenium, Postman, LoadRunner, Git, Jenkins.
