Position: Azure Cloud Platform Architect

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Platform Architect to design and deliver a global, multi-region cloud infrastructure. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating a secure, scalable, and high-performance Azure environment that ensures our customers always connect to the fastest and most reliable point of presence — wherever they are in the world.
This is a hands-on technical role that blends architecture design, automation, and cloud operations. You’ll collaborate closely with development, security, and operations teams to build a platform that supports continued global expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement a global, multi-region Azure platform that enables seamless, low-latency access for all users.
Develop and manage global traffic routing and load balancing strategies using Azure Front Door, Traffic Manager, and related services.
Ensure consistency across regional deployments to deliver a unified experience worldwide.
Architect for resilience, including high availability, geo-redundancy, and regional failover, with security and compliance integrated from the outset.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and updates using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Establish and maintain monitoring, cost optimization, and security best practices across all Azure environments.
Collaborate cross-functionally with development, security, and operations teams to align platform capabilities with business and product needs.
Own and maintain architecture documentation, technical roadmaps, and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure, preferably in a leadership or architectural capacity.
Proven hands-on experience with large-scale Azure environments, ideally spanning multiple regions.
Deep knowledge of Azure networking, identity, security, governance, and cost management.
Experience with global services such as Azure Front Door, Traffic Manager, Private Link, and hybrid connectivity (VPN/ExpressRoute).
Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM, Terraform) and CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
A security-first mindset with expertise in designing compliant and resilient cloud architectures.
Ability to balance strategic architecture planning with hands-on implementation.
Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate are highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience with serverless computing or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Background in global SaaS deployments.
Familiarity with FinOps principles for cloud cost optimization.
Additional Microsoft certifications such as:
DevOps Engineer Expert
Cybersecurity Architect Expert
Compliance and Identity Fundamentals
Azure AI Fundamentals or Azure AI Engineer Associate
