Job Title: Engineering Lead (Backend)
Location: Remote (US or Canada - SF/NY Preferred)
We’re building the future of emotionally intelligent AI, and we need a Backend Engineering Lead to architect the systems that make AI feel, remember, and connect.
About the Role:
You’ll own everything backend — infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and AI integration. From our C#/.NET API layer to Go/Python microservices, you’ll help build the foundation for AI with memory, emotional awareness, and personalization.
What You’ll Do:
· Backend & Infra: Manage and evolve our C#/.NET backend, move to Go/Python microservices, build REST/GraphQL APIs, and ensure scalable, robust infrastructure.
· AI/ML Integration: Work with LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Llama) and vector DBs (PgVector), implement memory pipelines, emotion/sentiment tagging, and retrieval-augmented generation.
· Cloud & DevOps: Own AWS infrastructure (Lambda, ECS, RDS, S3, etc.), CI/CD, monitoring, Terraform, caching, pub/sub, and SOC-2 readiness.
· Personalization: Build emotion-aware systems, memory engines, and adaptive APIs that improve with user interactions.
What We’re Looking For:
· 6–15 years backend or full-stack experience, building 0→1 products in startups.
· Production-grade backend experience with C#/.NET or equivalent, and ability to adopt Go/Python microservices.
· Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, Terraform, PostgreSQL, Redis, and modern cloud/infra patterns.
· Experience integrating/scaling LLM-based products is a plus.
· Startup mindset: fast-moving, hands-on, systems thinker, no ego, ready to own the backend end-to-end.
