Job Description

CNBC.com is seeking a reporter to cover the intersection of politics, the courts, and business. The reporter will break news, deliver scoops, and write sharp analysis that shows how decisions in Washington and the legal system affect companies, markets, and the economy.

The reporter will join a collaborative team that values flexibility and teamwork. While the primary focus will be on legal and political coverage, there will be occasions to jump in on major news and help colleagues across the newsroom. The ideal candidate is fast, accurate, and eager to deliver both breaking news and distinctive enterprise reporting.

What You'll Do

Break exclusive political news on the courts and legal decisions that impact business and the economy. This person will also report on court decisions that influence everything from FTC rulings to the Fed’s independence.
Develop coverage of the legal beat, specifically focusing on high-profile lawsuits and federal court decisions that impact politics, policy, business and the Trump administration.
Collaborate with the digital newsroom and our TV reporters for stories with major business implications.
