Wireless Logic is on the lookout for a skilled, driven, forward thinking Junior Data Engineer to step into our world and assist with data engineering activities. You will be joining a Data Team at a high growth technology IoT connectivity provider who are driving and shaping a data vision and strategy across the group. We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of Data Engineering principles who is looking to learn and grow their experience and put this into practise, working with best-in-class senior developers.
Reporting into the Group Head of Data, you will drive the group towards a data rich and data hungry business by capitalising on the strong foundations the data team has built, continuing to build roads that will unlock data as a superpower so that our teams can gain the competitive edge and make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering Projects
Assist with data engineering tasks from ingestion to transformation and delivery.
Assist with architecting and implementing scalable data pipelines using the Microsoft tech stack.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all systems.
Overcome barriers to delivery to support the business.
Data Infrastructure & Optimization
Design and maintain robust data models and storage solutions mainly using, but not limited to, SSIS, XML, T-SQL (SSMS) & python.
Learn how to design, develop, and maintain APIs.
Learn how to optimize performance of ETL/ ELT processes and database queries.
Implement monitoring and alerting for data workflows.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with analysts to understand data needs.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Document data architecture and processes for transparency and scalability using DevOps.
Required
4-5 years’ experience in an SQL based role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
An eye for the detail and excellent accuracy of work.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Effective organisation and time management skills
Tech/Languages currently in place – MS Tech Stack (SSIS, MS SQL Server, Power BI, etc), Python, DevOps.
Willingness to learn through self-development, peer knowledge and project experience.
On Site 2-3 days a week.
