Job Description
The Team:
The role sits in our Equity Research Group, forming part of our European Business Services Team. The team is currently comprised of 2 Analysts and 1 Senior Associate, and covers ~ 25 stocks across a diverse range of sub-sectors, ranging from Testing & Inspection, Info Services and Catering, to Staffing, Equipment Rental, Outsourcing and Distributors.
The Role:
We are looking to hire an Associate in London. This person will help to maintain and develop stock coverage, performing fundamental research for the benefit of the team’s institutional clients. This will entail performing financial analysis, data collection and building models, as well as writing reports, building presentations and liaising with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the senior analysts in maintaining and deepening stock coverage
Analyse companies and design/refine a range of financial models
Analyse and interpret alternative data from multiple sources and develop subject-matter expertise on the key themes and KPIs that drive the industry and companies within the coverage universe
Contribute to research reports, provide commentary and build presentations
Respond to queries and assist the team in relation to marketing and account management
Continually improve knowledge of the sub-sectors and staying abreast of company and industry news flow and development.
Requirements:
Experience in a research-driven role – equity research, audit, etc. including any relevant internship experience
Experience in financial analysis, modelling, valuation, presentation building and report writing
Experience leveraging data analysis as part of the fundamental research process for business, finance, engineering, or other quantitative fields
A passion for finance, research, and using data to solve problems
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
A suitable record of academic achievement, ideally including a post-graduate degree and/or qualification relating to finance (e.g. CFA and/or ACA)
