Job Specifications
The SAP ECC6 Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing end-to-end SAP ECC6 solutions that align with business objectives and IT strategy. The role requires deep technical and functional expertise across SAP ECC6 modules, the ability to lead cross-functional teams, and ensure that SAP systems are integrated, scalable, and optimized for performance and business value.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Architecture
Lead the design and delivery of SAP ECC6 solutions across multiple functional domains (eg, FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, WM).
Define system architecture, integration patterns, and data flow between SAP ECC6 and external systems.
Ensure solution designs adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security, and compliance requirements.
Translate complex business requirements into effective, scalable, and maintainable SAP configurations and custom developments.
Technical Leadership
Serve as the technical authority for SAP ECC6 within the organization.
Provide guidance and oversight to developers, functional consultants, and project teams.
Evaluate and recommend SAP enhancements, upgrades, and add-on solutions.
Ensure proper documentation and adherence to change management and governance processes.
Integration & Migration
Oversee integration of SAP ECC6 with third-party applications and enterprise platforms (eg, CRM, MES, BI tools).
Support data migration and system conversion initiatives, including transition strategies toward S/4HANA if applicable.
Work closely with Basis and infrastructure teams to optimize system performance and reliability.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with business leaders to align SAP capabilities with strategic objectives.
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Act as a trusted advisor on SAP roadmap planning and digital transformation initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and enhance SAP processes.
Stay current with SAP ECC6 best practices, OSS notes, and industry trends.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to developing internal SAP capabilities.
Key Requirements:
Education & Certification
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
SAP certification(s) in relevant ECC6 modules or architecture disciplines highly desirable.
Experience
10+ years of experience in SAP solution design and delivery, with at least 5 years as an SAP Architect.
Proven experience implementing and supporting SAP ECC6 systems in large, complex environments.
Deep understanding of SAP modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, and integration with non-SAP systems.
Experience with SAP upgrades, enhancement packs, and migration to S/4HANA (advantageous).
Strong understanding of ABAP development principles, IDocs, BAPIs, and workflow integration.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Proven leadership in project delivery and technical governance.
Must be UK based with willingness to travel on occasion - Circa £800 per day Outside IR35
