This role will be based in Sunnyvale, CA.

We are seeking a Distinguished AI Engineer to define and drive the next generation of AI systems powering LinkedIn's Talent Marketplace. This is a rare opportunity to shape the technical vision, strategy, and architecture behind one of the largest and most trusted marketplaces in the world.

Responsibilities:

Set the multi-year technical vision and strategy for AI across the Talent Marketplace - spanning job and candidate search, recommendations, and marketplace optimization.
Invent and scale industry-leading agentic AI systems that drive trust, efficiency, and business growth.
Uplift the technical bar across LinkedIn by mentoring senior technical leaders and guiding cross-org initiatives.
Shape platform evolution and infrastructure to meet the demands of billion-member scale, collaborating deeply with Core AI and Infrastructure teams.
Influence company-wide and industry direction by publishing, open-sourcing, and representing LinkedIn in the broader AI community - grounded in innovations proven in production.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

10+ years of work experience- in machine learning/AI
6+ years of technical leadership experience
B.A./B.S. degree or higher in a relevant field or related discipline (machine learning, statistics, computer science etc.) or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in a relevant field or related discipline (machine learning, statistics, computer science etc.), or equivalent research experience
Strong academic credentials with publications in top-tier journals and conferences
Experience in designing and implementing AI systems at scale to solve complex business problems
Experience of technical leadership guiding and mentoring top engineering and operations talent
Experience leading high-impact, cross-company initiatives

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $248,000 to $406,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
