Contract Project Manager — Business Central & LS Retail Deployment

Duration: 9–12 Month Contract (Starting January 2026)

Hours: Minimum 10 hours/week, scaling up to 30 hours/week

Location: Hybrid (Periodic onsite travel to corporate office & store locations)

Reports To: Head of IT & Project Steering Committee

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end design, build, and deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and LS Retail across 131 retail stores. This high-impact role will work closely with their implementation partner, internal IT, retail operations, store leadership, and multiple third-party integrators to ensure a successful, scalable rollout delivered on time, on scope, and on budget.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive project leader who thrives in fast-paced retail environments and has hands-on experience managing enterprise ERP/POS transformations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Coordination

Lead the full project lifecycle for the Business Central + LS Retail deployment, from planning through go-live and stabilization for both head office and 131 stores.
Act as the primary liaison with the partner for all vendor deliverables, scope discussions, escalations, and timelines.
Plan and coordinate all Configuration & Validation Iterations (CVI), ensuring functional and operational needs are captured in solution design.
Maintain project plans, milestones, resource schedules, RACI matrices, and store deployment wave plans in partnership with the partner's PM.

Governance & Communication

Facilitate cross-functional governance, including Steering Committee meetings, project status reviews, change control, and decision logs.
Produce clear project documentation and executive reporting: dashboards, risk logs, financial summaries, and deployment metrics.

Financial & Vendor Management

Manage vendor costs, budget tracking, and financial variance reporting.
Oversee contract compliance, SLAs, and commercial terms as needed.

Technical & Deployment Readiness

Support the readiness of integrations (POS, payments, inventory, reporting), hardware configurations, and store-level setups.
Oversee the entire testing strategy: unit, integration, UAT, and regression cycles—ensuring issue tracking and timely resolution.
Identify, assess, mitigate, and escalate project risks and issues promptly.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of Project Management experience deploying enterprise retail or ERP solutions (Business Central and/or LS Retail preferred).
Demonstrated success managing multi-site retail rollouts (50+ locations; ideally 100+).
Strong understanding of Business Central, LS Retail, integrations, and core retail workflows.
Experience with waterfall, agile, or hybrid delivery methodologies and structured rollout/wave planning.
PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum Master certification preferred.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, from executives to store-level teams.
Proven budget management, vendor oversight, and contract/SLA management experience.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
Willingness to travel up to 25–40% during peak deployment periods.

Desired Attributes

Deep retail knowledge: POS workflows, inventory, promotions, pricing, and store operations.
Experience with payment systems, PCI, and retail hardware rollouts.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong bias toward execution
