Front-End Developer - Leeds
Hybrid - 3 Days on site - Full Time
About the Role
I am looking for a skilled Mid-Level Front-End Developer who is passionate about building clean, intuitive, and performant user interfaces. You’ll work closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality web experiences. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in modern front-end development who’s ready to take ownership of features and contribute to architectural decisions.
Responsibilities
Develop responsive, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular).
Translate design wireframes and prototypes into clean, maintainable code.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Optimise applications for speed, scalability, and usability.
Write reusable, testable components and maintain front-end code standards.
Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and maintaining code quality.
Troubleshoot UI issues and implement effective solutions.
Stay up to date with emerging front-end technologies and best practices.
Requirements
2–5 years of professional front-end development experience.
Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (including preprocessors like Sass), and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with at least one modern front-end framework (React, Vue, or Angular).
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and asynchronous programming.
Understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.
Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub or GitLab).
Knowledge of build and tooling systems such as Webpack, Vite, or similar.
Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with UI component libraries (Material UI, Chakra UI, Tailwind, etc.).
Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
Basic understanding of backend or full-stack concepts.
Experience with performance profiling and optimisation.
