Black Ark Labs is a cybersecurity and AI startup building ArkOne, an advanced cyber range automation and orchestration platform. We develop tools that blend cybersecurity, virtualization, AI, DevSecOps, and mission rehearsal to support government, education, and enterprise training environments.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated junior engineer or intern to support backend development and infrastructure automation. This fully remote role provides hands-on experience across modern DevOps tooling, cloud and virtualization platforms, and AI-assisted development workflows.

What You’ll Do

Assist with backend and API development
Work with Docker, virtualization, automation, and cloud tooling
Support the engineering team with feature implementation and testing
Learn and apply best practices in software engineering
Collaborate in a structured development environment

Preferred Skills

Strong fundamentals matter most. Experience or interest in any of the following is a plus:

Cybersecurity concepts
Docker, Proxmox, AWS, or similar platforms
OpenTofu/Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD workflows
Python, TypeScript, or modern backend development
Virtualization, containerization, or cloud orchestration
AI/LLM experience (fine-tuning, prompting, or applied AI)
