Camunda is the leader in enterprise agentic automation, orchestrating complex business processes, including high-value knowledge work, across agents, people, and systems. By creating production-ready, enterprise-grade agents with built-in governance, Camunda uniquely delivers trusted AI agents for business-critical processes. Over 700 leading innovators like Atlassian, ING, and Vodafone, rely on Camunda to slash time-to-value from months to days, boost operational efficiency, and elevate customer experiences. Camunda was named a Visionary in the inaugural 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Business Orchestration and Automation Technologies (BOAT).

As a fully remote, global company, we’re rewriting the rules of modern business. Named GP Bullhound’s 2024 Top 100 Next Unicorn list, certified as a Great Place to Work, and recognized by Flexa for true flexibility, we’re growing fast and looking for top talent to join our team. If you’re excited to do meaningful work and make real impact, keep reading, this role could be the one you’ve been waiting for.

About The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack at Camunda, you’ll help shape Web Modeler into an enterprise‑ready, end‑to‑end place where teams design, test, collaborate, and reuse process applications. You’ll work across the stack (Java/Spring Boot to React/TypeScript) and across teams to ship features that deliver immediate value to customers. We operate with a “you build it, you run it” mindset and live our FAITH values — Focus, Ambition, Integrity, Talent, and Humor — while shipping pragmatic, high‑quality software that helps organizations orchestrate their most important processes.

What You Will Do

Unblock delivery by contributing full‑stack expertise where it’s most needed, helping the team overcome its current backend bottleneck and increasing throughput and quality.
Own interactions end to end — from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operations — delivering incremental value with clear outcomes.
Contribute to Camunda 8.9 and 8.10 epics in Web Modeler Acceleration (e.g., capabilities for end‑to‑end test scenarios and marketplace/bulk import improvements) in close collaboration with Web Modeler, Console, Identity, Embedded Intelligence, SRE, Distribution, Product Management, and Support.
Improve engineering practices that raise quality and resilience (e.g., clearer ownership across components, test strategy improvements, and DX upgrades around scenario editing, versioning, and maintenance).
Shape and consume API contracts that enable creation, editing, sharing, and import workflows across Web Modeler and adjacent services — validating real user workflows with UX and stakeholders.
Operate what you ship by applying CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and deployment automation so changes are reliable, observable, and reversible.

Must Haves

What You Will Bring to the Role:

Product‑minded delivery: shape scope into small, iterative releases and align APIs and UIs to deliver clear, customer‑visible outcomes.
Operational ownership in production: instrument services for metrics/logs/traces, manage safe deployments (feature flags/rollbacks), and participate in on‑call/incident response to uphold reliability.
Practical testing strategy for distributed web apps: implement unit and contract tests, service‑level integration, and E2E automation in CI/CD to protect critical paths.
Proven experience building and maintaining complex applications with Spring Boot, Maven, React, TypeScript, and Docker, following engineering best practices.
A “you build it, you run it” mindset; you take ownership of code, deployment, and operations.
A pragmatic, autonomous approach to problem‑solving; you iterate and deliver incremental progress.
Willingness to use and learn from Camunda’s product in your daily work, applying it to real engineering challenges.

Nice To Haves

Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices (monitoring, logging, deployment automation), ideally GitHub Actions.
Knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm.
Strength in testing strategies (unit, integration, e2e) for complex, distributed systems.
