Ai Engineer

Hybrid 3 days - Calgary or Edmonton

6 Month Contract + High Chance of Extensions

80-100/hr

Insight Global is looking for a highly skilled and motivated AI Engineer to Join a Large North American Power Generation company for a 6 month contract, with high potential to extend. A successful candidate will work on a team of 4 (3 data scientists and one team lead) to develop and implement AI solutions that enhance the operational efficiency and support the strategic growth of the client. This resource will be assisting in the following 3 large capital projects; 1) Asset optimization 2) Market Intelligence 3) Symantec intelligence. This resource will be required to work in office Tuesday-Thursdays in either the Calgary or Edmonton office locations.

Some Day-to-Day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Design, Develop and deploy AI models and agentic systems to solve complex problems in the power generation and commodities space.

- Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify opportunities for AI applications and integrate AI solutions into existing systems.

- Conduct data analysis and preprocessing to ensure high-quality input for Ai models

- Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI-Models, making necessary adjustments to improve accuracy and efficiency.

- Document AI Development processes and create technical reports for stakeholders.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Strong working experience with Data Bricks and Snowflake

- Strong programming experience with Python, Java, or C# and SQL

- Experience with Large Language models like; GPT4o (GPT5.1), Gemini or Llama.

- Experience with agentic tools like Lang Graph (also open to Lang Chain or Semantic Kernel)

- Experience in Vector datastores and embedding models, ideally with Pinecone

- Must have previously delivered a successful AI project to production
