Job Title: AVS Architect

Overview:
Seeking an experienced AVS Architect with 13+ years in IT, including 3+ years in Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and 5+ years in VMware vSphere, Azure cloud deployments, and migration projects.
Responsibilities
Architect, plan, and guide complex infrastructure deployments and migrations for large enterprise customers.
Lead transitions from on-premises VMware environments to Azure VMware Solution (AVS).
Work with application, infrastructure, and security stakeholders to define migration strategies, requirements, and deployment processes.
Stay current with AVS and VMware technologies, proposing best-fit designs and acting as an SME/trainer for internal teams.
Create solution documents, share knowledge, build self-help automation, and contribute to technical community learning.
Qualifications & Expertise
Core Skills (Required):
Strong background in datacenter and cloud architecture using VMware and Microsoft technologies.
VMware Core Infrastructure expertise:
vSphere 6.0+, NSX-T, NSX Edge services (DNS, DHCP, Gateway, Firewall), Distributed Firewall
NSX deployments and migrations (VLAN or NSX-V to NSX-T)
vSAN, HCX Advanced/Enterprise
Experience with on-prem to cloud / cloud-to-cloud migrations using HCX.
Key Azure capabilities:
ExpressRoute, Azure VPN, Virtual WAN, Route Server, Azure networking
Azure Disk Pools, Azure NetApp Files
Strong understanding of platform architecture: networking, security, HA, monitoring, patching, data protection.
Familiarity with compliance standards and enterprise IT landscapes.
Experience with Azure hosting, cloud infrastructure, and datacenter networking topologies (L2/L3).
Preferred Skills:
VMware SRM, vSphere Replication, vCD, vROps, vRNI, vRLI
Azure Monitor, Azure Arc, Security Center
Working with 3rd-party virtual appliances (firewalls, load balancers, routers)
Soft Skills
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management abilities.
Ability to handle complex customer scenarios with professionalism.
Skilled in leading projects and motivating technical teams.
