About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join Twilio's Conversational AI organization. This role focuses on enhancing and supporting our AI and Agentic offerings within the Conversational Agents Team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and refining platform primitives that enable customers to integrate AI Agents capable of autonomous question answering and action execution. As part of this team, you will contribute to shaping the future of conversational AI, leveraging large language models (LLMs) and emerging technologies to deliver world-class solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that are transforming customer engagement and internal operations across various industries.
Qualifications
6-10 years of hands-on experience as an engineer writing production-grade code in a modern programming language (language agnostic)
Passion for emerging technologies, with a focus on staying current with latest developments
Proven track record of shipping products to production, testing ideas early with customers, and iterating rapidly based on feedback
Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across teams
Strong customer focus and an ability to incorporate user feedback into product development
Experience building products from idea to market fit (zero to one)
Proficiency in Typescript, Python, or Go (desired)
Experience working on products or features leveraging large language models (desired)
Builder at heart, passionate about hands-on development and seeing work come to life
Responsibilities
Develop and implement solutions independently and collaboratively, ensuring modularity and flexibility in software design
Write maintainable, well-tested code within a professional software engineering environment
Assist in defining, breaking down, and prioritizing work in partnership with the team
Conduct research on industry trends, provide analysis, and develop proof-of-concept prototypes
Collaborate with LLM providers and services responsible for Memory and Retrieval Augmented Generation
Participate in code reviews and whiteboarding sessions to infuse technical expertise and best practices
Work with the Tech Lead to establish standard methodologies and best practices for your area of ownership
Utilize programming languages such as Typescript and Python to build scalable AI solutions
