Software Engineer

Location: Gloucester (hybrid - 3 days a week in office)

Salary: Up to £62,000 (depending on experience) + £7,000 bonus

We’re looking for talented Software Engineers (1+ years experience) to join a growing team delivering cutting-edge solutions within the UK National Security space. You’ll work on technically complex systems that directly contribute to national-level projects, surrounded by a collaborative engineering culture that values innovation, learning and impact.

NOTE: Due to the nature of this client's work, candidates must be eligible for UK Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.

What you’ll be doing

Designing, developing, testing and deploying robust software systems in a secure environment.
Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-integrity, high-availability applications.
Supporting code reviews, debugging, and issue resolution within an Agile delivery model.
Working with modern cloud and software engineering practices to build scalable systems.
Contributing to a culture of continual improvement, mentoring and knowledge-sharing.

About you - Tech stack

You have at least 12+ months’ hands-on, commercial software engineering experience.

We’re flexible on the tools and technologies you use - your strengths matter most. Experience in one or more of the following would be highly beneficial:

Languages: Java, Python, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript
Frontend: React (or similar modern frameworks)
Cloud & DevOps: AWS (essential), Docker, microservices, CI/CD
Other desirable areas: Secure development, data processing, APIs, distributed systems.
