Position Overview:

The Senior Growth Engineer position encompasses all aspects of web and mobile analytics pipelines, data engineering, marketing attribution, cloud infrastructure, and machine learning as they pertain to the measurement and optimization of digital marketing campaigns. This is a senior-level position for someone with 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably with direct exposure to marketing analytics and marketing attribution technologies. Demonstrated proficiency and experience with Python, SQL, and Git are core expectations for the role. The ideal candidate will have experience in client-facing roles, as client consultation and support are core aspects of the position.

As a fully remote company spanning multiple time zones and countries, we rely on a culture of direct accountability and trust and look for teammates who will operate effectively in that context. You must be able to work semi-autonomously and deliver crystal-clear communication in both synchronous and asynchronous formats, with teammates and clients alike. You will be expected to demonstrate a deep familiarity with the domain of digital marketing attribution and reporting, in addition to understanding the tools and infrastructure we use to provide our services.

Responsibilities:

Advise clients and media buying teams on channel event instrumentation requirements and user attribution, such as Meta’s Conversions API (CAPI), Google Enhanced Conversions, etc.
Validate web and app analytics event pipelines in tools such as Google Tag Manager or Mobile Measurement Partners such as AppsFlyer.
Write data ingest pipelines and API integrations using Python running on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Create BI dashboards and views using Looker.
Write data pipelines using SQL in Data Build Tool (dbt) on Google BigQuery.
Investigate data discrepancies and troubleshoot pipeline and reporting issues.
Integrate web, app, eCommerce (e.g., Shopify), and CRM (e.g., Salesforce) data with advertising channel audience and conversion APIs (e.g., Facebook CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions).
Implement custom BI visualizations using HTML/CSS/JS + Vue.
Implement OAuth endpoints, web callbacks, and other API integrations supporting data and reporting integrations in Python.
Execute matched-market power analysis and model analysis using Meta’s GeoLift library and other ML tooling, executed within Jupyter notebooks using Python.

Qualifications:

A strong understanding of SQL fundamentals and the ability to confidently write analytical queries.
Experience with Python in either a data engineering, web/API development, or data science setting, along with a demonstrated ability to manage and architect Python-based software projects.
Experience with version control management, in particular Git (we use GitLab right now).
A strong working knowledge of web technologies, HTTP cookies, HTML/CSS/JS, browser-to-server communication, and REST APIs.
Comfortable communicating, presenting findings, soliciting requirements, and receiving feedback directly from clients in a proficient manner.
Experience in the digital marketing/user acquisition measurement space, particularly familiarity with the technologies employed in marketing attribution and analytics (MMPs, channel conversion APIs, tag management, etc.) utilized for digital marketing in paid social and search.

Preferred candidates might have:

Experience or familiarity with analytics data pipeline management, in particular dbt and an analytics database such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
Experience developing and integrating with REST APIs in Python.
Familiarity and experience with GCP (or a similar cloud platform such as AWS).
Awareness and knowledge of statistics and machine learning, in particular time series regression.
