JOB DESCRIPTION – Entry-Level AWS Support Engineer
We are looking for an Entry-Level AWS Support Engineer to assist in supporting and maintaining cloud environments hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role is ideal for candidates with basic cloud knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to learn modern cloud and DevOps technologies.
You will work with the senior team to resolve support tickets, perform routine cloud tasks, assist with deployments, and ensure smooth operations of AWS services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first-level support for AWS-related incidents, requests, and service issues.
Assist in monitoring AWS environments (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.).
Help deploy and update AWS resources under supervision using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS console.
Perform basic troubleshooting for:
Server/instance issues
Networking (VPC, security groups, connectivity)
Storage (S3 permissions, backup issues)
Support day-to-day cloud operations and routine checks.
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Assist in user account permissions and IAM-related tasks.
Work closely with senior engineers to learn cloud automation and best practices.
Escalate unresolved issues to senior team members and follow up until closure.
Participate in training and continuous skill development in AWS and DevOps tools.
Required Skills / Knowledge
Basic understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda).
Fundamental knowledge of cloud computing concepts.
Familiarity with at least one Infrastructure-as-Code tool (Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK) — training will be provided.
Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
Understanding of Linux/Windows server basics.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls).
Exposure to configuration management tools (Ansible/Chef/Puppet) is a plus.
Knowledge of containers (Docker/ECS/Kubernetes) is an added advantage.
Soft Skills
Good communication and customer support skills.
Strong willingness to learn AWS, DevOps, and automation.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team and follow guidance from senior engineers.
Experience Required
1–2 years of experience in IT Support, Cloud Support, or similar technical role.
Internship or training related to AWS/Cloud will be considered an advantage.
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Associate-level certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Notes
Training and mentorship will be provided for AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, and cloud operations.
