JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (P.Eng.) to join our engineering team. The ideal
candidate will bring deep technical expertise in steel building design and detailing, a thorough
understanding of relevant codes and standards, and the ability to manage multiple projects
through design, review, and fabrication support.
This role is hands-on and technically focused, ideal for a professional who thrives in solving
complex design challenges, reviewing detailed drawings, and ensuring compliance and efficiency
across all engineering deliverables.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership
Perform and review structural analysis and design for steel and pre-engineered building
systems in accordance with CSA, AISC, and NBC standards.
Prepare and validate design calculations, connection designs, and engineering drawings.
Review and stamp engineering packages, shop drawings, and fabrication details.
Ensure all designs meet client specications, structural integrity, and constructability
requirements.
Support value engineering initiatives to optimize designs for material efficiency and cost
effectiveness.
Project Management
Provide technical guidance throughout all phases of a project — from design and detailing
through fabrication and erection.
Ensure quality designs are developed and delivered on time and within budget.
Provide technical support to project teams throughout project execution, including design
clarications, RFI responses, and coordination with clients, consultants, and site teams.
Collaborate and coordinate with third-party engineering, detailing, and design rms,
ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and align with company practices and project
deliverables.
Assist pre-contract and sales teams with the preparation of proposals, engineering
estimates, engineering schedules, and schematic designs.
Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless
project execution.
Collaborate with clients, architects and contractors to ensure alignment and resolve design
challenges.
Quality, Standards, & Continuous Improvement
Uphold and apply company engineering standards, templates, and calculation methods.
Participate in peer reviews to ensure high technical quality and consistency across projects.
Stay current with evolving building codes, design methods, and steel industry best
practices.
Assist the Director of Engineering in developing technical standards and best practices.
Contribute to department goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualications
Registered Professional Structural Engineer (P.Eng.), in good standing. This is a strict
requirement.
8 to 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering.
Proven track record of leading design and engineering projects.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to promote creative solutions.
Strong knowledge of structural systems, materials, and design software (e.g., RISA, ETABS,
SAP2000, Revit).
Demonstrated experience reviewing and approving shop drawings, fabrication details, and
erection drawings.
Experience collaborating directly with project management and construction teams to
resolve technical challenges
Experience with structural steel, Conventional and Pre-Engineered Building systems
considered a signicant asset.
Registration in BC and additional Canadian Provinces would be an asset.

Job Location
Job location is Delta, BC. Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance.
Preferably within the Metro Vancouver region. The position does have opportunity for Hybrid
work.
