Experienced Data Scientist – Sports Data Focus

Location: Hybrid (South East England)

Type: Full-time

Salary: £100,000+

Our client is an ambitious sports-tech start-up on a mission to revolutionize how data drives performance and insights in the sports industry. They’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist who can take ownership of the data strategy and help shape the future of the business.

The Role

Build and optimize data models and pipelines for sports-related datasets.
Collaborate with founders to define analytics strategy and deliver actionable insights.
Innovate and experiment in a fast-paced, flexible environment.

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience working with sports data (performance metrics, player stats, match data, etc.).
Strong skills in Python (but freedom to use tools you’re most comfortable with).
A degree in Mathematics or equivalent
Expertise in data wrangling, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics.
Ability to communicate complex insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable with ambiguity and excited to build from the ground up.
