Position: USA Remote – Senior Analytics Engineer - Contractor (Healthcare (Payer or Claims) Data Platform)

Location: 100% Remote – Mainland-USA based candidates ONLY (working EST)

Length: Long-Term Contracting, 9-12+Months (Likely extensions)

Target Pay Range: $50-$60hr W2 (Benefits eligible after 60 days)

Work Auth: (TN, EAD-GC, GC, or US Cit.) - (Must be eligible to work without requiring sponsorship now or in the future)

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

About the Role:

A fast-growing healthcare technology organization is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to support a data platform initiative led by a specialized engineering consulting firm. This role focuses on data modeling, transformation design, and building analytics-ready datasets that empower business stakeholders. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in SQL and dbt, experienced with healthcare data, and passionate about enabling data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Design and optimize dbt models, dimensional structures, and semantic layers for analytics use cases
Develop high-quality SQL transformations and reusable datasets for BI and reporting
Implement data quality frameworks, validation tests, and lineage visibility
Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to productionize pipelines and ensure reliability
Document models, metrics, and business logic for cross-functional teams
Act as a consultant to stakeholders (Actuaries, Analysts, Product teams) to translate requirements into scalable data solutions

Qualifications:

5+ years in analytics engineering, BI engineering, or data engineering with strong AWS experience
3+ years in healthcare, specifically processing Healthcare Data or working with payer or claims data and membership data transformation
Strong data modeling skills including dimensional modeling and semantic layer design
Expert-level SQL and hands-on dbt experience (core or Cloud) for modular, tested pipelines
Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and performance optimization
Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) and modern engineering workflows (Git, CI/CD)
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
