Interim Director of FP&A

High-Growth, PE-Backed Group

Circa £900/Day Outside

London

We are supporting a high growth, private equity backed services business on the appointment of an Interim Director of FP&A / FP&A Consultant. The business is scaling rapidly via frequent acquisitions and needs an experienced FP&A leader to bring structure, challenge and clarity to a very fast-moving environment.

This is a hands on role working directly with a highly credible CFO. The ideal person will have proven exposure in building processes in a highly acquisitive PE backed environment.

You will:

Take ownership of group FP&A in a business where M&A is the primary growth driver.
Move the organisation from annual budgeting on spreadsheets towards best-practice rolling forecasting and robust performance insight.
Tighten the link between the deal model, banking covenants and in-year trading, providing clear scenarios and sensitivities for the CFO, Board and PE.
Work closely with M&A, Finance and the wider leadership team to translate a busy acquisition pipeline into coherent group level plans and metrics.

You will be stepping into a lean group finance team in a business that is still relatively “green” from a process, systems and policy perspective - there is a lot to build, not just to maintain.

The ideal profile must have:

Transaction Services background
Big 4 / Top 10 trained
Deep deal and modelling experience
Corporate Finance experience, with a strong grasp of IRR, returns bridges, leverage and covenant mechanics.
In-house FP&A leadership in a PE-backed and/or buy-and-build environment, ideally within multi-site.
A track record of implementing rolling forecasts, budgeting frameworks and decision useful MI in complex, changing businesses.
High energy, resilience and the ability to operate with limited infrastructure - comfortable being both strategic partner and hands on modeller.
Strong stakeholder skills - credible with CFO, PE investors, banks and senior operators, with the emotional intelligence to support and stretch a developing finance team.

If you are an experienced FP&A leader with a deal driven background and are immediately available (or on a very short notice period), please get in touch in confidence to discuss.

All enquiries will be handled on a strictly confidential basis; client details will only be shared under NDA at the appropriate stage in the process.

We’re passionate about creating an inclusive workplace for our clients that promotes and values diversity.
