OPPORTUNITY 

As part of its continued growth, Fengate is seeking a skilled Vice President of Investor Relations & Capital Formation to join the team in a fundraising role. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with experience raising capital in private markets and ideally, has existing Canadian institutional investor relationships in the real estate space. The Investor Relations & Capital Formation team is responsible for building high trust relationships and performing market research to support key relationships and initiatives across Fengate. The successful candidate will work with various groups in the organization, including the Fengate Executive Team, Investment Professionals and Asset Management Team. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Form, maintain and enhance relationships with prospective investors 
Raise capital for all funds and strategies, including co-investments 
Conduct research on potential investors 
Communicate regularly with potential investors; marketing Fengate and the underlying funds  
Increase positive exposure of Fengate and attract capital from the institutional investor community for all funds and strategies  
Contribute to creating materials for fundraising, roadshows, and follow-up meetings  
Organize roadshows, logistics, and meetings for potential institutional investor base - travel to major Canadian cities as required  
Track investor summary and maintain database of potential investors  
Confirm all investor meetings and ensure materials are prepared and distributed in advance  
Organize due diligence visits and site visits  
Provide investor feedback after all meetings and due diligence visits  
Other duties within the scope and purpose of the job, as requested 

Requirements

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field required; MBA or CFA preferred  
7-10 years minimum experience in investor relations or a similar capital-raising capacity  
Direct experience working with Canadian institutional investors, ideally with real estate investors who invest in funds   
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas both clearly and effectively (competency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)  
Self-motivated and the ability to take a proactive approach with a high degree of intellectual curiosity  
Capable of building high trust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and work in a collaborative manner 
Demonstrated ability to prioritize manage competing deliverables 
Strong analytical and quantitative skills 
Understanding of global financial markets, investment industry, portfolio construction principles and asset allocation approaches 
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, building consensus, communicating effectively, and contributing to a positive, growth-oriented work culture.  
Results oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, maintaining attention to detail.
