Job Title: Front End Web Developer
Location: Downey, CA (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract W2 only
Job Summary
The Front-End Web Developer will be responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining responsive, user-facing web interfaces using modern front-end technologies. This role involves developing high-quality, accessible, and visually accurate web applications and working closely within a collaborative team environment that deploys changes regularly. The ideal candidate must be experienced in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks, responsive design methods, accessibility standards, and modern front-end tools.
Key Responsibilities
Develop user-facing interfaces using modern front-end web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, CSS preprocessors (LESS/SASS), responsive design, Bourbon, and Bootstrap.
Perform JavaScript development following modern standards (strict mode, modularization) and use libraries/frameworks such as jQuery, Backbone.js, Ember.js, D3, and MV* architectures.
Design, build, and consume RESTful web APIs for front-end integrations.
Create web layouts, templates, and user interface components from static images or design mockups.
Develop views and templates for full-stack frameworks such as Rails, Express, or Django.
Collaborate in Agile/Lean environments and participate in team ceremonies.
Use version control systems such as Git and GitHub for code management and deployment.
Ensure Section 508 and WCAG accessibility compliance across web pages, templates, and microsites.
Provide troubleshooting and support for front-end issues on existing client websites, landing pages, and templates.
Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging front-end technologies, tools, and best practices.
Work with open-source communities and tools.
Support marketing and design teams by updating or creating digital graphics and print media when needed.
Required Skills
Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, W3C standards, and cross-browser compatibility.
Hands-on experience with responsive design, SASS/LESS, Bootstrap, and front-end frameworks.
Proficiency in JavaScript and libraries/frameworks such as jQuery, Backbone.js, Ember.js, and D3.
Experience with RESTful API integration.
Ability to present HTML/CSS mockups and prototypes.
Solid troubleshooting skills for front-end bugs and UI issues.
Knowledge of Section 508 compliance and basic accessibility requirements.
Experience working with Git/GitHub in collaborative environments.
Ability to create layouts from static images or wireframes.
