Job Specifications

A major global financial services institution is partnering with us to hire a Java Full Stack Developer for their growing Montreal team. The role is backend-heavy, with exposure to modern front-end development, and is ideal for engineers looking to bolster their experience with distributed systems at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities;

Design, build, and maintain Java-based microservices using modern frameworks and best practices.
Develop event-driven, distributed systems leveraging Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
Write clean, performant, scalable, testable, and reusable code with strong automated test coverage.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, telemetry, and observability tooling.
Collaborate closely with global engineering teams, SRE, and architecture groups.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to team standards and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience;

5+ years of hands-on experience building distributed, event-based systems.
Strong experience with Java 11+ (Java 17 or 21 preferred).
Deep knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring REST, and the Spring ecosystem.
Proven experience with Kafka-based messaging and event-driven architectures
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, resiliency, scalability, and security.
Experience designing scalable database models (relational and/or NoSQL).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with cloud-native development, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Experience with Angular on the front end.
Experience with MongoDB.
Prior experience in FinTech or financial services.
