Job Specifications

For an European institution in Brussels, Belgium, we are looking for a hybrid Senior Business Intelligence Expert.

Candidates need to be based in Belgium or willing to relocate to Brussels, when coming from abroad. Candidates need to be willing to work 5 days on-site.

Candidates need to be fluent in English. A work permit is not provided. This position is open for contractors.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Design and implement ETL processes;
Design and develop reports and dashboards;
Provide advice on DB design and performance;
Design and implement data governance procedures (incl. access, data quality, etc.);
Create data architecture models: optimise data flows and integrate solutions;
Create and maintain Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and complex Business Intelligence Solutions (Data Lakes / Data Lakehouses);
Conduct research to improve solutions and provide advice about new approaches and technologies (Data Virtualization, Data Mining, Linked Data, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data);
Gather business requirements related to reports and dashboards;
Write technical documentation;
Perform data quality tests;

Profile:

Bachelor or Master degree;
+10 years of specific expertise in data warehouses;
+10 years of specific expertise in relational and non-relational database systems, data modelling tools and SQL;
+10 years of experience with ETL/SAP Business Objects/QlikSense;
+10 years of experience with data quality management;
+3 years of experience with PowerBI;
Good knowledge of data architecture frameworks;
Very good knowledge of near real time data warehousing and/or change data capture technologies;
Knowledge of data modelling, graphical representation, abstraction, and design;
Experience with MS-FABRIC, scripting in Python, AI/ML-powered analytics, including automated insights, natural-language query and predictive capabilities will be considered an advantage;
Knowledge of new technologies, including cloud-based business intelligence solutions, Linked Data, Artificial Intelligence will be considered an asset;
Certification related to business intelligence tools and/or specific expertise mentioned above (e.g. Microsoft Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate, Amazon Certified Data Analytics Speciality) will be considered for this request. Project management related certificates are an advantage;
Fluent in English;
