This post is fixed term/secondment until 21.6.2026 due to Maternity Cover.

If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

This is an exciting opportunity for a secondment within the community paediatric physiotherapy service to cover maternity leave until June 2026. The post is suitable for a physiotherapist who has had some experience within the speciality, such as a band 5 rotation.

You will work in a supportive environment to acquire and develop knowledge and skills related to treating children and young people with disabilities in the community/school environment.

A willingness and desire to learn is essential for this post. You will be supported in this by senior members of the team/clinical specialist.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to take an active role in the assessment and treatment of children and young adults living in Denbighshire with support from senior colleagues. You will be expected to manage your own community caseload in a variety of community settings (including nurseries, schools and patient’s homes) and provide service to the children’s wards at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

You would be expected to contribute to the supervision of support staff and students within the department. You will also contribute and participate as a member of the wider multidisciplinary/joint agency teams supporting children and young people with disabilities.

As part of the role, you will be expected to participate in 7 day working where indicated and respiratory on-call. Training will be available if required.

Good communication skills are essential for this post. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and / or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
HCPC registration
Evidence of CPD in Physiotherapy in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio.
Postgraduate training courses

Desirable criteria

Membership of appropriate professional post-graduate training body
Relevant Special/Clinical interest group membership
Clinical educators course
Bronze IQT

Experience

Essential criteria

Significant Post Registration Experience
Evidence of core rotations
Experience of working in an NHS environment as physiotherapist and MDT/ multi-agency working where relevant

Desirable criteria

Experience of contribution to CNG or working parties.
Experience in the relevant speciality
