Job Posting: Sr. Release Train Engineer (RTE)
Location: Halifax Canada (Permanent remote accepted across the U.S.; EST/CST preferred)
Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) organization is preparing to launch new Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in 2026 and is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead one of its largest ARTs (80–150 team members) within the product and application security domain.
This role is ideal for a proactive, executive-facing Agile leader with strong SAFe expertise, capable of driving alignment from enterprise strategy to execution while delivering complex, business-critical cybersecurity capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the ART conductor, facilitating and coaching all SAFe ceremonies and practices to optimize flow, speed, and value delivery.
Lead PI Planning readiness, including Vision, Roadmap, and Backlog preparation.
Organize and facilitate PI Planning and manage execution of commitments with transparency.
Coach and mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, cyber teams, and business partners in Lean-Agile principles, Feature prioritization, and backlog refinement.
Facilitate working sessions to break down enterprise and departmental priorities into Epics and Features.
Continuously improve value streams, addressing dependencies, risks, and systemic impediments.
Create a collaborative environment across program, portfolio, technical, and business teams.
Orchestrate ART-level execution across multiple Scrum and Product teams.
Ensure ART readiness for System Demos and Inspect & Adapt events.
Track and report ART metrics including velocity, predictability, capacity, and maturity.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through Inspect & Adapt workshops and Communities of Practice.
Support the ongoing evolution and adoption of SAFe practices within EIP and the broader organization.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) leading large, complex ARTs.
7+ years of experience working with Agile frameworks in high-demand environments (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, hybrid models).
Proven success coaching teams and leaders in Lean-Agile practices.
Strong ability to identify, manage, and resolve enterprise-level impediments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive-level presentation experience.
Advanced facilitation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Agile certifications such as SAFe RTE, CSM, IC Agile ATF.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO); experience with Jira Align preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience working with cybersecurity teams, particularly in product or application security.
Experience supporting both development and non-development Agile teams.
Advanced certifications such as Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC).
