About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Data Privacy – Technical Architect with strong expertise in BigID, data privacy, and governance. This role will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data privacy solutions, ensuring compliance with Canadian and US data protection regulations while enabling strong data governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and implement BigID solutions for data discovery, classification, and privacy compliance
Design privacy-centric data models for PII detection, data lineage, and consent management
Integrate BigID with Azure, Databricks, and governance tools like Collibra
Lead technical workshops and translate privacy requirements into scalable architectures
Establish and maintain data catalogs, glossaries, dictionaries, and lineage documentation
Ensure compliance with regulations such as PIPEDA, Law 25, Ontario Bill 194, CCPA/CPRA, CPA, NERC CIP, and FERC
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to delivery teams

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years in data architecture, privacy engineering, or enterprise IT
5+ years of hands-on experience with the BigID platform
Expertise in BigID deployment models (SaaS, On-Prem, Hybrid, Containerized)
Strong knowledge of BigID connectors, discovery methods, and AI-based scanning
Experience with cloud-based data platforms and privacy frameworks
Strong SQL and scripting skills
Solid understanding of data governance, lineage, and impact analysis
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Certifications

BigID Certified Architect
Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT)
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
