AI Engineer | Contract | Initial 3 Months | Newcastle (Hybrid) | £550–590/day Inside IR35

We have a new contract role for an AI Engineer to work on cutting-edge generative AI solutions leveraging Google Gemini and Google Cloud Platform.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week required on site in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement AI-driven solutions using Google Gemini and Vertex AI
Build and integrate generative AI models via APIs
Develop scalable backend systems in Python for data processing and model orchestration.
Implement RAG workflows and vector search for knowledge integration
Deploy solutions on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring security and compliance
Apply ML Ops best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring

Tech Stack:

Python
ML libraries: TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain
Cloud: Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, Gemini API
CI/CD with Docker/Kubernetes

Ideal Candidate

Strong background in Machine Learning, Generative AI, or Software Engineering
Hands-on experience with Google Gemini, Vertex AI, and GCP services
Proven ability to integrate foundation models and build scalable AI systems
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Bonus: Experience with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and taking POCs to production
