Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js / TypeScript / GraphQL)

Hybrid (3x/week) – Mountain View, CA

Contract | $70-80/hour

We’re partnering with a venture-backed, data-driven technology company building the next generation of platforms for data search, consolidation, and analytics. This is a hands-on senior-level role for engineers who thrive in fast-moving, high-ownership environments.

What you’ll be working on

Building and scaling backend APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS
Designing and maintaining GraphQL APIs (Apollo Server)
Working with structured data, ETL mappings, and backend integrations
Integrating external services and APIs
Writing high-quality unit & integration tests (Jest)
Collaborating in an Agile environment
Supporting and guiding other engineers through code reviews and technical discussions

What we’re looking for

Strong experience as a Senior Backend Engineer
Deep hands-on knowledge of:
Node.js
TypeScript
NestJS
GraphQL (Apollo)
Solid testing experience with Jest
Comfortable working with data-heavy systems
Experience using Git/GitHub

Nice to have

Experience with Google Cloud Platform
Exposure to AI/ML-related backend work
Background in startup or scale-up environments
