Context

A Private Equity backed buy-and-build platform in the SaaS sector is expanding its origination activities in France. The role focuses on identifying targets in a fragmented market, building a proprietary sourcing pipeline, and leading founder outreach to qualify interest. Technical M&A skills are helpful but not core; execution post-LOI is handled internally. Priority is on sourcing, market scanning, and managing the commercial origination funnel.

Scope

/ Identify and prioritize relevant SaaS sub-verticals in France

/ Build and manage a proprietary deal pipeline

/ Map fragmented niches to uncover acquisition opportunities

/ Lead outreach to founders and management teams

/ Conduct initial qualification calls and assess strategic fit

/ Prepare short assessments and hand over qualified opportunities

/ Report funnel metrics and align with the investment team

Must-have Skills

/ 4–8+ years experience in origination, deal sourcing, or business development

/ Experience in buy-and-build environments or fragmented markets

/ Proven ability to build and manage a proprietary deal pipeline

/ Strong foundation in founder outreach and outbound processes

/ Solid understanding of SaaS business models and recurring revenue metrics

/ Analytical ability to evaluate attractiveness and fit

/ Fluency in French and English

Preferred Skills

/ Experience working with PE-backed companies

/ Exposure to SaaS or vertical software markets

/ Network in the Spanish software ecosystem

/ Basic M&A knowledge (valuation, LOI prep, early-stage DD)

/ Interest in a potential transition to full-time
