We're hiring a Senior Software Developer with Automation & DevOps skills, for one of our clients, an investment bank based in Montreal
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Automation
• Design and develop automation workflows using API integrations and/or Selenium-based scripting.
• Implement application enhancements in collaboration with business teams, ensuring eliability
and maintainability.
• Maintain and optimize application databases and related data structures.
Support, Documentation & Delivery
• Provide functional and technical support, analyse incidents, and deliver timely resolutions.
• Document runbooks, operating procedures, and configuration standards to support knowledge sharing and continuity.
• Communicate with application users regarding releases, maintenance windows, and service
disruptions.
Systems & Infrastructure
• Manage application infrastructure hosted on private cloud environments, ensuring compliance with internal security and IT governance policies.
• Remediate vulnerabilities, perform lifecycle management, and plan for software upgrades.
• Coordinate with internal platform teams and shared service groups to integrate enterprise
tooling and services.
Required Technical Skills
• Programming: Java, JavaScript, Python (5+ years of experience)
• Automation & APIs: REST APIs, Spring Boot / Flask, Selenium
• Database & Querying: SQL Server, Transact-SQL
• Versioning & CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, Harbor (or equivalent artifact/orchestration tools)
• Development Environments: IntelliJ, PyCharm, Visual Studio Code
Key Competencies
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to team initiatives
• Rigorous documentation and communication skills
• Structured approach to delivering solutions that are maintainable and scalable
• Comfortable collaborating with global stakeholders across different time zones
Nice to Have
• PowerShell scripting
• BPMN workflow tools (e.g., Camunda, Form.io)
• Experience with API management tools (e.g., Insomnia)
• PostgreSQL database knowledge
• Experience working in Agile environments (Jira / Confluence)
• Experience with Autosys, DevOps pipelines, and Hybrid Cloud environments
Working Model & Requirements
• Hybrid work schedule: 4 days per week on-site, 1 day remote (subject to team schedule and operational requirements).
• Location: Candidate must be based in Montréal or willing to relocate.
• On-site interviews: Some interview steps may be conducted in person at the Montréal office.
• Employment Type: Full-time permanent position within the organization
