Senior Business Systems Analyst (Payments)

Contract | Hybrid | Banking – Payments Modernization

About the program

Bridge business and technology for payments modernization. You’ll lead discovery, requirements, and functional design across multiple payment rails and services.

What you’ll do

Lead end-to-end requirements: stakeholder interviews, process mapping, user stories, acceptance criteria.
Document current vs. target state for payment flows; identify gaps and remediation plans.
Partner with Architects and Dev teams on solution options; validate business value and compliance.
Support UAT, defect triage, and readiness for production releases; drive cutover planning.
Ensure controls for sanctions screening, reconciliation, and operational reporting.

Must-have skills

7+ years as BSA/BA in banking or payments; deep knowledge of payment lifecycles and exception handling.
Strong documentation skills (BRDs, FRDs, sequence diagrams, data mapping, traceability).
Agile delivery (Scrum/SAFe), backlog ownership, and stakeholder management.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.

Nice to have (Payments domain)

Experience with: SWIFT, Lynx, FedWire; AFT/EDI/Bill Payments/ACH; TCH RTP, Zelle; Interac e-Transfers/Bulk EMT; international remittances (Visa/Western Union/Citi); tokenization & digital wallets; shared/data services; sanctions screening.
Familiarity with ISO 20022 (and/or ISO 8583) requirements and message mapping.
Experience with:
Wires (International SWIFT, Domestic Lynx, FedWire)
AFT (Canada), EDI, Bill Payments, ACH (US)
TCH RTP, Zelle
Interac e-Transfers, Interac Bulk EMT
International remittances (Visa, Western Union, Citi)
Payment Card Tokenization, Digital Wallets
Payments Shared Services & Data Services
Payments Sanctions Screening
