SPA is seeking a Data Scientist III in San Diego. Responsibilities
The Data Scientist III position will develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. They may also perform data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets, as well as visualize, interpret, and report data findings and create dynamic data reports.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in performing the following tasks:
Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts.
Experience with frequent Scripting language use, such as Python and R and using packages commonly used in data science applications or advanced analytics.
Experience with data science, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms to support analytics objectives.
Experience applying Structured Query Language (SQL), NoSQL, Application Program Interface (API) Building, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines, Web Application Servers, or Search Index.
Experience using programming languages and products such as Python, Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, Numpy, Requests, or Antigravity.
Experience applying complex mathematical and statistical concepts.
Experience applying statistical and operations research methods and tools.
Experience employing spreadsheets for data manipulation and visualization.
CA Pay Transparency Salary Range: $140K - $165K. Qualifications Required
Master's Degree
10 (ten) or more years of professional experience with data science
Professional experience with DoD acquisition organizations spanning ACAT I/II to ACAT III/IV & AAPs, Projects, and Adaptive Acquisition Framework Pathways (to include Software Acquisition Pathway, Middle Tier Acquisition Pathway, etc.)
Data management and data visualization experience with leveraging the Navy or comparable DoD databases (ie Odin, NMCI, N-ERP, Flankspeed, etc.)
Three (3) years of this experience in direct support of a Navy or DoD data visualization products
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
