Summer 2026 Intern – Retirement Sales and Plan Consulting

Location: Boston, MA or Greenwood Village, CO (on-site & in-person)

Duration: 10 weeks from May 27, 2026 to July 31, 2026

Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Compensation: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour (based on academic level)

Program Overview

Empower’s Summer Internship Program offers an immersive 10-week experience designed to develop rising professionals with an interest in financial services. Our interns thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment while gaining valuable insights into our business, culture, and mission.

Each Intern Is Paired With a Dedicated Manager, Mentor, And Executive Sponsor, And Will Work On a Meaningful Summer Project. This Program Includes

Hands on-experience with real business initiatives
Exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
Networking opportunities
Professional and personal development workshops

At the conclusion of the internship, each intern presents their work to business leaders, showcasing the impact they’ve made.

What You’ll Do

As a Retirement Sales and Plan Consulting Intern, you will:

Collect, organize, and analyze key real business data from sales consultations and performance results to uncover trends that influence client engagement and sales effectiveness.
Design and prototype a scalable database solution for tracking win/loss outcomes and consultation insights, helping the team improve transparency and decision-making.
Standardize and backload historical sales and consultation data to build a reliable, consolidated reporting framework foundation used across the business.
Build and test reporting templates and dashboards that surface key themes, uncover performance drivers, and tell a compelling story through data.
Partner with Sales and Consulting teams to refine metrics, validate insights, and support leadership with clear, data-backed recommendations.

Over the course of the 10-week internship, you will contribute to both individual and team-driving project work, with ongoing support, guidance, and feedback from your team.

What You Bring

We’re seeking college students who demonstrate a balance of technical aptitude, professionalism, and curiosity. Ideal candidates will bring the following:

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a college or university (Bachelor’s or Master’s program)
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Available for full 10-week program (May 27 – July 31, 2026)
Must reside near or be able to reliably commute to either Boston, MA or Greenwood Village, CO (in-person internship)
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship (CPT/OPT not supported)

What Will Set You Apart

At least 2 years of academic progress toward a bachelor’s degree
Preferred majors: Finance, Economics, or other relevant business fields
Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce reporting)
Analytical mindset with interest in business process improvement
Hands-on experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or database design

Base Salary Range

$47,800.00 - $65,725.00
