Job Description

Join the Global Credit and Lending Technology team as we continuously deliver new products to modernize operational business processes by delivering enterprise grade solutions. We are seeking a talented and adaptable DevOps and system engineer to transform and accelerate our software delivery pipelines and maintain a health system for the applications. You will act as the keeper of DevOps tooling and the central orchestrator of DevOps/ DevSecOps activities with a mandate to drive down delivery/change lead times, batch sizes, mean time to recovery, and change failure rates.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Creating and scaling DevOps pipelines to build, scan, test and deploy code to various production and preproduction environments
Creating, and scaling monitoring and alerting infrastructure for deployed applications, including system health and application health metrics assimilation pipelines and dashboards
Staying up to date with DevOps/DevSecOps best practices and informing Tech and Engineering leadership and strategy on best alternatives for tooling choices
Together with RBC’s DevOps CoE, determine best mix of development, interfacing applications, third party vendor solutions to meet business requirements and project objectives.
Works with internal infrastructure teams to provision cloud, network, firewall infrastructure requests and provide solutions for reported system wise vulnerabilities
Manage all aspects of joint development and assists with vendor negotiations for DevOps adoption
Develop, measure, and monitor ongoing effectiveness of DevOps solutions including production and maintenance support
Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies
Directly engaged in hands-on development, research and mentoring in support of driving modern engineering practices including: CI (Continuous Integration), CD (Continuous Delivery), Continuous Health Monitoring, Distributed Tracing, Audit Logging, Live Metrics, Circuit Breakers and Containerization

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

Extensive DevOps experience across technologies with exposure to multiple projects/interfaces and/or 3rd parties
Knowledge of scripting languages, Python, Bash, Node.js, Powershell, open-source technologies and cloud services
Expert troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems
Proven experience working with Linux and Windows infrastructures, CI & CD tools, pipeline automation, configuration and source control such as GIT, GitHub Actions and building tools Jenkins and Nexus
Experience with different code static and dynamic scanning applications, e.g. SonarQube, Snyk, etc.
Self-motivated – driven to get results, takes initiative and needs minimum oversight

Nice-to-have:

Extensive working experience with container management (build, deploy, improve) using tools such as Docker
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure
Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
Experience with AI tools for DevOps
Capital Markets experience is a strong plus
