At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.
Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.
About the role:
The Smart Trailers team leads the development of critical product lines at Samsara, including advanced sensors and trailer technology. We are moving beyond simple tracking to build a comprehensive operating system for our customers' freight and logistics ecosystem.
As a Full Stack Engineer on this team, you will build the technical foundation that powers the world's most complex fleets. Your work will focus on solving critical logistics challenges, such as protecting trailers and cargo from loss or theft. You will design intelligent systems utilizing geofencing and motion data to distinguish between authorized departures and potential security breaches for critical assets sitting in depots or moving across the country.
Simultaneously, you will build algorithms to boost asset utilization, helping customers reduce wasted fuel, empty miles, and unnecessary maintenance. You will also play a key role in safeguarding sensitive cargo operations. Whether our customers are transporting temperature-controlled goods, hazardous materials, or high-value industrial equipment, you will build the infrastructure that monitors environmental conditions to ensure load integrity and regulatory compliance.
As the product evolves, you will expand these core capabilities by integrating computer vision to automate yard checks and developing new layers of supply chain visibility to track inventory and orders alongside the physical assets.
