About the Role

A major global professional services firm is growing its Intelligent Systems capability and is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to design and build advanced AI services that power large-scale digital products used across the UK business.

The team blends engineering, data and cloud expertise to create production AI that solves real-world challenges at enterprise scale. The team is at the forefront of modernising complex workflows through Generative AI, machine learning, data-driven insights and cloud-native automation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing and building AI-powered services that support large-scale digital products.
Leading the technical delivery of AI features within a collaborative engineering squad.
Building ML pipelines, APIs and cloud-hosted services using modern engineering practices.
Working closely with data scientists, engineers and product teams to bring ideas into production.
Mentoring engineers and helping shape good engineering practices across the team.

What You’ll Bring

Solid experience in backend or AI engineering (Python preferred).
Experience building and deploying real-world AI or data-driven systems.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure ideal) and modern ML/AI tooling.
An interest in Generative AI, machine learning or intelligent automation.
Comfortable working collaboratively in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Clear communication and a willingness to share ideas and solve complex problems.

Desirable:

Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or related field.
Cloud or AI certifications.
Experience with Microsoft Graph API or enterprise-scale data ecosystems.
Professional accounting knowledge (not essential).
