DevOps Engineer – National Security
Introduction
This growing consultancy is delivering high-impact solutions to the UK’s most complex national security challenges. They’re now looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help shape and maintain the infrastructure that underpins critical projects.
Role Overview:
Location: Bristol, Cheltenham, or Manchester (3-4 days office-based)
Package: Competitive salary + benefits

Clearance: Active eDV clearance required
What You’ll Be Doing:
Designing and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and private cloud environments.
Building, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters, alongside tools like Docker and Helm.
Automating processes for build, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Developing policies for compliance, security, and disaster recovery.
Driving optimisation for performance, availability, and cost-efficiency.
Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to knowledge sharing across the team.
Main Skills Needed:
Strong background in DevOps with hands-on cloud experience.
Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and related technologies.
Experience designing secure, scalable, and highly available systems.
Comfortable working in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
Strong stakeholder communication skills.
Eligible for high-level UK security clearance (British passport + 5 years residency).
